If you need to create virtual ports for a modem to connect COM port-based applications, with Null Modern Emulator you can do it. Also known as "com0com", Null Modern Emulator is a free and open source program that's controlled via a simple graphical interface.

You see, Null Modern Emulator allows you to create as many virtual COM port pairs as you need, to which you can connect applications based on this type of COM port. Each COM port has a pair of virtual ports, being the "output" port of the "input" of another, and vice versa.

The most common use of Null Modern Emulator is related to the creation of virtual devices, for example, sending FAX over IP, or to create TCP connections among several PCs, including via IP.
